Summary/Abstract: During the nineties the perception of Andric's work has significantly changed in the territory of the former Yugoslavia. In the Bosnian context, ideological readings of Andric’s works are most prevalent in the Bosniak critic and reception context. Ideological readings focused on the portrayal of epic personalities such as Alija Djerzelez and the Moric brothers. Those critics obviously expected the same representation of epic heroes in modern literature as one in the oral tradition. But the writer chose to present them in a different world than is an epic tradition.
