Verbal Puns in Contemporary Spanish Literature

Summary/Abstract: The main goal of this study is to explore and examine the main or most frequent word play of a generally phonetic kind, namely, paronomasia, pun, echo, alliteration, etc. Essentially descriptive methodology is followed throughout the paper, with a representative selection of examples taken from the contemporary Spanish poetry (mostly the first half of the 20th century).
