Summary/Abstract: The article will discuss the course of Germany's foreign policy after reunification and its central role within the EU from the perspective of foreign policy, security and defense initiatives, its participation in crisis and conflict management at EU borders, as well as strategic and economic partnerships. it has with France, the USA and the Russian Federation. We will also highlight the new informal management practices preferred by Germany in the event of resolving crises in which political and diplomatic negotiations took place through "horizontal and informal interactions" between a limited number of EU Member States within mini lateral mechanisms.
