Summary/Abstract: Czech language teaching is expanding rapidly in China. Czech has been established as a major for undergraduates in more than ten universities, not only in the capital city Beijing and the metropolitan Shanghai, but also in smaller cities, especially in provincial capitals and economically prosperous cities. Among these schools of higher education, Beijing International Studies University (BISU) began teaching Czech back in the 1960s; since 2015 it has, unconventionally, started teaching Czech language and culture to high school students. This article aims to introduce the structure of the 7-year study program of Czech Studies, which is also referred to as “2 + 1 + 1 + 3,” as well as specific details of the program.
