Summary/Abstract: There is a legal obligation in Poland to report suspicions of child abuse for all professionals who work with children. Similar regulations are present in other countries' law; it is only one of the models existing in the world. Apart from detailed description of benefits and disadvantages of the mandatory reporting model, terminologicaland typological issues of the child welare and its implications for the child abuse prevention system are discussed in the article.
