Summary/Abstract: This paper begins by discussing how one of the most condemned sexual crimes, adultery, was dealt with in legal codes used in early modern Ukraine. Then it examines how cases of adultery were handled by regional town courts and looks at the gender dimension of this crime, trying to find out if accusations of adultery harmed men’s honor.
