Summary/Abstract: Between 1950–1973 Japan was experiencing dynamic economic growth and until the end of the 1980s its development remained unwavering. The collapse of asset prices has triggered the economic problems that plague Japan to this day. In order to bring the economy out of the stagnation, the Abenomics plan was implemented in 2013. The plan’s role is to undertake coordinated, unordinary action to stimulate economic growth. The aim of this article is to try and judge the results of the new economic policy – Abenomics. The methods used to achieve this goal were: literature review and analysis of macroeconomic and market data. This conducted research shows that the economic situation in Japan has improved, however the steps taken show no sign of being able to lift Japan out of economic impasse.
