Summary/Abstract: A poorly-written and ambiguous source text is one of the greatest fears of any translator. The present article was written with the purpose of discussing possible ways of rendering said texts more coherent and easier to read for the target audience, through the use of explicitation and implicitation as the main strategies of translation. We will be providing examples from our thesis, a translation of Jacques Ellul’s essay titled "L’Histoire de la propagande" ("The history of propaganda")
