Summary/Abstract: Street designations do not enable only the topographical-spatial orientation, but they are also the carriers of the political and cultural contents. The paper is about the results of the trends’ analysis in the change of the names of streets in the chosen places of the Busko County during the Second World War. The showed examples are sorted on account of their function. It may be expected that the reason for these steps was primarily to express the Nazi power and ideology in the names of the streets, as well as to remove from the public and social space the designations which clashed with the Nazi politics and culture. But in the analysis it is exposed that the German converted the Polish hodonyms without changing their names or their functions. In this way it can be seen, that the German people accepted the Polish language world picture and used it in their own language during their presence in the occupied areas of Poland.
