Summary/Abstract: The text contains extracts from 10 chapters of the book “Europe - a History”. The first of them contains the outlines of the Jews’ place in Europe after their migration in 1722. The accent is on their realization and the attitude towards them in particular European countries. Also, the dynamics in the ways, in which the Jewish is perceived in the frames of the European Jewish communities, is displayed. The second and third exerts are devoted to Modernism and Decadence that are considered to be tendencies applied in many different spheres (art, science, technology, philosophy, education). They are outlined through some basic contributions in the boundaries of these spheres.
