Summary/Abstract: This study aims at presenting some typologies of mathematical models applied in urbanism and architecture, which can have a way to solve the development of the living type (rural - urban) and the testing by a local case study (Bucharest), for the purpose of validating it.For this purpose a simulation with Fuzzy Cellular Automata (CA) models based on fuzzy logic for anarea in the northeast of Bucharest was conducted. The theory of fuzzy sets was developed to deal with problems where the properties are not clearly defined. The fuzzy logic was introduced by Zadeh in the 1960s and experienced an impressive development.Fuzzy logic uses linguistic variables and fuzzy sets. A linguistic variable is characterized by:- name of the variable - urban typology- the fundamental values of the variable - urban, rural, partially urban- modifiers - very, little, more- the speech universe - the set of living typology- interpretation of values as fuzzy subsets of the speech universe.Urban developments are determined by processes with a series of uncertainties and the emergence of the concept of fuzzy logic has provided a way to solve these uncertainties. Such a process can be the urbanization process.In an urban model of Cellular Automata with a fuzzy urbanization process, a fuzzy subset is used to delimit the continuous urbanization process of an area.For the case study we opted for a simplified CA model where the state at the next moment is determined by degrees of belonging of the different states. In other words, the study proposes the carrying out of a fuzzy process for an CA on how to urbanize a cell (development). The cell proposed for urbanization is the commune of Afumati, having as neighbors the area Voluntari, Ştefăneşti and Moara Domnească. The urban property has been considered in a fuzzy sense, in the meaning that cells have a certain degree of urbanity, and this degreeevolves over time. The Cellular Automata will evolve over time according to the degree of urbanization of its neighbors.
