Concerning the picking of the name of the child, it is seen the urban influence, but also the recommendation of the Church of giving just one first name, which preferably to belongs to a saint, apostle, martyr or other saintcharacter, for the protection of the child. Also, the entire ensemble of gesturesrelated to the period after the birth is related to symbolic significations: thepreparations of the first bath, when various objects with magical attributes are placed in bathtub, which have the capacity of giving to the child his/hers main qualities.
