Summary/Abstract: After a brief historiography general presentation in the world of numbers and symbols, the paper makes an incursion in the mythology of Eight. The incursion in this “world” starts from the biblical references to what is noticed in the people and civilisations or history or the one of the secret societies. The cultural patterns of using these symbol-number suppose the a prior existence of some particular flexible structures, which make distinct spiritual and experiences of the communities without could to isolate themselves from the general evolution of the mankind. So, from the Palaeolithic to nowadays, the mystical and religious man has been living the sacred dimension of his being, inseparable linked to the divinity, and in this context, the symbol-number put him in contact to the transcendental and placed him into a metaphysical world.
