Summary/Abstract: The writer and dramatist Liviu Rebreanu was a director of the National Theatre in Bucharest and, implicitly, general director of the theatres in Romania but in certain periods he managed also the Society of the Romanian Writers, he was a member of the PEN Club. Covering such a largearea of activities, he was also a tireless traveller, promoting the Romanian culture in different European countries by organising and supporting some programs of mutual translations of the contemporary literature. As a result of his travels, he let us substantial pages of journal, being always concerned to notice the specificity of the visited places, the inhabitants’ features, not to forget something important. When he had enough time, he wrote only short sentences, sometimes simple words, as memento. Otherwise, the novelist’s style could be seen even in the descriptions of some places, facts, people, as his journal from Spain.
