TÜRK ATASÖZLERİNDE SPORA ÖZGÜ KAVRAMLARIN KULLANIMLARINA İLİŞKİN BİR ARAŞTIRMA
A RESEARCH ON THE USE OF SPORT SPECIAL CONCEPTS IN TURKISH PROVISIONS

Summary/Abstract: Proverbs are one of the elements of verbal culture which reflects the ideal of a nation, has national characteristics and reflects the behavior and thought styles transferred from generation to generation. The subject of this study is how and in which ways the concepts of sports culture are discussed in Turkish proverbs. The aim of this study is to investigate the usage of sports specific concepts in Turkish proverbs from various perspectives. In Turkish proverbs, content analysis method was used to examine how sports image is presented and how concepts are used. Inside of 20,000 proverbs were searched from the Proverbs Dictionary of the Turkish Language Institution and the proverbs dictionary of Nurettin ALBAYRAK, and the ones related to sports were identified.
