Summary/Abstract: The article aims to establish the importance of a number of heretical and orthodox texts for Emilian Stanev’s novel The Legend of Sibin, Prince of Preslav. The observations lead to the conclusion that the sources and facts are not used verbatim but are subjected to the author’s idea of seeking the answer to the question “What kind of people are we?”
