Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article is to reveal the peculiarities of the activity of the Academic Dance Ensemble "Nadzbruchanka" (Ternopil) in the context of the development of professional groups of the folk-stage choreography of Ukraine. Methodology. Based on the analysis of scientific literature and sources, the use of the chronological approach, the method of systematization, it became possible to conduct a scientific-objective study. Scientific Novelty. For the first time, the main aspects of the activities of the Academic dance ensemble "Nadzbruchanka" in the context of the development of professional collectives of the folk-stage choreography of Ukraine are analyzed. Conclusions. The activity of the Academic Dance Ensemble "Nadzbruchanka" took place in line with the central tendencies of the formation and development of professional groups of folk dance in Ukraine (the presence of the leading choreographer (A. Danichkin), which confirmed the creative principles of the collective, the duality of the laws of constructing the repertoire, where dance compositions - the processing of folklore sources region side by side with stylized and dramatized productions, while maintaining a connection with the imaginative system of folk choreography, etc.) but also has specific features (creating the ensemble much later than most of the similar collectives of the country, after A. Danichkin there is a frequent change of choreographers, etc.). The presented research does not pretend to be complete, there is an outline of prospective directions for further developments, including a comparative analysis of the creative principles of the various choreographers of Nadzbruchanka, the dynamics of the development of the collective at different historical stages, the role of the ensemble in the cultural and artistic life of Ternopil 'and the like.
