Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to identify the specifics of the use of case studies to improve the professional culture of journalism students in higher educational institutions in the axiological aspect. A set of research methods was used in the work, in particular, when studying the scientific literature, they used the analytical method. In order to create a primary idea of the problem and the ways of its solution – textual. To solve the problem of identifying the concept of the «professional culture of journalists», terminological analysis is applied. Methodology. The classification and comparison methods helped to clarify the features of the «case method», and the descriptive method helped determine its specificity. The generalization method allowed us to present the results of the study. Scientific novelty lies in the justification of the appropriateness of the use of case-studies in the process of training journalistic students in higher educational institutions.
