Phonetic Differences in the Northern Dialects of the Udmurt Language

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of specific phonetic phenomena recorded in the Northern dialects of the Udmurt language. Special attention is paid to characteristics which distinguish between separate Northern Udmurt dialects, on the one hand, and/or have a limited distribution in the group of the investigated dialects, on the other hand. Linguistic facts of the Northern dialects are compared with similar phenomena in other Udmurt patois.
