Summary/Abstract: The article tries to highlight Erwin Piscator’s concept of the „political theatre“, which appears at the beginning of the 20th century. Starting with Piscator und Brecht a description of the documentary theatre after 1945 is offered and equal new projections of the documentary theatre after 1990 will be lined out.
