Summary/Abstract: After the famous collections of poetry Kora (1953) and Nepočin polje (1956) Vasko Popa devoted himself to analyzing the important directions in the Serbian oral and written literature such as folk wisdom (Od zlata jabuka, 1958), poetic humour (Urnebesnik, 1960) and poetic visions (Ponoćno sunce, 1962). During a period of 20 years the poet simultaneously questioned his own published poetry and found the spaces of new visual poetic and human material. That is when he planned and wrote a strictly composed collection of poems Secondary Sky with fruitful work on The Midnight Sun.
