Summary/Abstract: The influence of individual biblical books on Serbian medieval literature is an important factor in the illuminating and understanding of elementary questions of the poetics of medieval literature. The forms and types in which the Bible appears in the works of Serbian medieval writers are considered in this paper on the example of the Book of Daniel, with a special reference to the motif of three holy children in the fiery furnace, which emerges in the third chapter of this Old Testament book. In the search for this motive in the works of Serbian medieval literature, the issue of intertextual connections between certain literary works have opened, as well as the question of the relationship between literature and fine arts.
