The Differences of Social Development of Provinces in Respect of Changes in the Economic Field

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to assess the regional differences related to the level of social development with respect to changes in the diversity of economic development in 2005–2016. The study uses taxonomic methods of linear ordering such as the generalized distance measure (GDM) method by M. Walesiak as well as the zero unitarization one. It has been found that although in the analysed period significant inertia characterised regio-nal variations in the level of social and economic development, both areas of study showed a contrasting picture of these differences. Nevertheless, the symptoms of linking between changes in social development and the level and dynamics of economic development were found.
