Agribusiness as a legal category

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to formulating such definition as «agricultural business» in the legal context.It is highlighted that agroindustrial complex and agricultural business are not identical things, first of all because of different orientation of economic activity. The social and economic content of agricultural business was revealed. Different approaches to the disclosure of the essence of agricultural business are considered, such as: subjective, functional, in the context of a certain type of relations. As a result,the author’s definition of the study category was proposed. Аgribusiness includes: relations concerning the production of agricultural products, raw materials; all relations related to the processing, storage,transportation and sale of manufactured products; relations with logistical and scientific support of agricultural producers. Аgribusiness from a legal point of view, then in a generalized form it can be defined as an activity that is carried out systematically for profit in the process of production, processing,storage, transportation and sale of agricultural products and raw materials.
