Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to reveal the peculiarities of the transformation of mass holidays in the period of the establishment of the Soviet power in Ukraine. The methodology of the research consists of the application of factual, analytical, comparative, historical and logical methods, which made it possible to reveal the forms and ways of transforming mass holidays in Ukraine in the first years of formation of the Soviet power, to systematize the regularities of transformation of the authentic mass holidays into the Soviet ones and to reveal the features of the functioning of mass holidays in the Soviet period in the first decades of the 20th century. The scientific novelty of the research is to identify the specifics of these processes in the historical context and taking into account the details of their deployment in the Ukrainian space. The purposes and directions of the transformation of mass holidays into the Soviet ones are revealed. The conclusions is made that the peculiarity of the Soviet mass holidays was their rigid unification,
