Summary/Abstract: In the Hijri year of 1266 (1850/51) a population census was organized in the eyalet of Bosnia, where the quarters of the small town (kasaba) Gračanica were recorded as well. This article publishes the part of the census which refers to the Čiriš quarter, one of the about fifteen quarters of Gračanica. 38 houses were recorded in this census, along with the names of the owners and the male members of these families. The most numerous family according to this census was the Šabić family (11 houses), followed by the family Sakalaš (4 houses), Ramaš (3 houses), Kakeš (3 houses), Ćehajić (2 houses), and fifteen other families represented by one house each. This census brings a wealth of new, hitherto unknown data on the population of this quarter and can be seen as a very valuable source for future genealogical, anthropogeographic and historiographical research.
