Summary/Abstract: There were numerous occasions when events from the beginning of the aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina were presented on the pages of the “Gračanički glasnik”; these often were from different points of view and especially concerned the events in the Zečev Gaj area, at the intersection of Malešići, Lendići and Stjepan Polje which took place from the 23rd to the 25th of May 1992. On this occasion we publish a memoir record of an immediate participant, Nijaz Omerović, an academic painter from Gračanica, who was a member of the Maneuver Platoon of the Territorial Defense of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Gračanica and a close associate of his commander Mehmed Meša Ahmedbegović. The note was written down on the 28th of May 1992, not even three full days after the decisive clash at Zečev Gaj in which ten soldiers of the RBiH territorial defense gave their lives for Bosnia and Herzegovina. As an authentic document that was created shortly after the events it concerns, this note will certainly serve as a reliable source, but also as an impetus for future research on this topic.
