Theoretical foundations of the study of verbal communication: the culturological aspect

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to define the key concepts of the study of speech communication and to reveal their essential attributes for further use in culturological developments in the field of communication. Methodology. In this study, axiological, information-semiotic and communication methods were used. The scientific novelty of this article is that the initial methodological positions of the study of intercultural communication, including the linguistic features of this process, are analyzed. Conclusions. Modern linguistics has an established system of theoretical concepts and an adequate research toolkit. In linguistics there are created conditions for new interdisciplinary studies of verbal communication, and the conceptual apparatus of this science can be successfully applied in other sciences
