Summary/Abstract: This paper is dedicated on the critical success factors in project management. Different aspects of the question are analyzed - both theoretical and applied. The projects that are implemented in business organizations are the main focus. The aim is to seek, analyze and summarize various factors that are the most relevant for successful completion and final effect of the project - economic, technical, technological and social. Some adequate approaches and practices for reaching the intended project objective are searched for based on a study of theoretical positions, summary of current data and reports on the results of various projects. In the framework of this study is supported the thesis that there is a certain combination of critical success factors in the implementation of projects that have a decisive impact on the project process and its final result. For this reason, the good knowledge and effective management of these factors and their impact are confirmed as two of the main prerequisites for achieving success in the realization process.
