THE EVOLUTION OF LITURGICAL SEWING: TRADITIONS OF UKRAINIAN CHURCH SEWING

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to identify the emergence and development of Ukrainian church sewing. To achieve the goal, the rise, appearance, construction and formation of church swag with gold and silver threads in Ukraine have been analyzed. Methodology of the study involves applying using interdisciplinary, art-study and cultural approaches with the use of general scientific methods (analysis, historical-analytical, synthesis, analogy, comparative). The above-mentioned methodological approaches allow revealing more profound the essence of Ukrainian church harping. The scientific novelty of the work is to uncover the formation and establishment of church harping in the Ukrainian environment.
