Summary/Abstract: Dimitar Dimov’s novel “Tobacco” was first published in 1951 and the revised and supplemented edition in 1953. Foreign interest in the novel is extremely high and has been translated into more than 20 languages, including Slovak, German, Polish, Russian, Romanian, Hungarian, Chinese, English, Spanish, French, Greek, Turkish, Mongolian, Japanese. The first translation was by Maria Topolska and was published in 1954 in Slovak. The article presents several more translations of the novel - in French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Greek, Turkish, etc., as well as information about their translators.
