THE PROBLEM “COMPOSER AND FOLKLORE” IN THE WORKS OF ALEXANDER JACOBCHUK THROUGH SOURCES ASPECTS OF STUDY

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to highlight the problem “composer and folklore” in the works of A. Jacobchuk through sources aspects of the study. The methodology of the research is based on the application of the cultural approach, source study, textual methods. This approach allows us to reveal the discourse of the existence of music by A. Jacobchuk in the cultural space of Ukraine. Scientific novelty. For the first time, the problem “composer and folklore” in the works of A. Jacobchuk through sources aspects of the study have been researched. Also, two papers by the composer himself about the technique of his folk song processing have been analyzed and stressed value of them for the next investigation of artist`s music. Conclusions. The problem “composer and folklore” has been manifested as one of the trends in understanding of the personal style of modern Ukrainian composer A. Jacobchuk, his national identity. Among represented review of sources, two papers (preface to collections) by composer himself are extraordinary value because they give a possibility to understand the logic of his music mentality in this genre.
