Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on two novels of contemporary German science-fiction literature. Its ambition is to navigate these intricate conceptions of “otherness” within the contemporary imaginary, where the prevailing theme of troubled identity set in technologically advanced realities is not only pervasive but problematic. The thesis of this paper argues that these two chosen novels tackle different variants of otherness; indicating hereby the very existence of multiple other identities and questioning the entity of the self in a technological era.
