Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the analysis of the formation, conception and policy of the polish Law and Justice Party. Initially a few former leaders and members of the earlier influential Christian-conservative/national-nationalist political organisations (Centre Accord, Christian National Union, Conservative People’s Party) organised the party. Its largest historical result up to now was achieved 2005, when it won the elections in both Houses of the National Assembly, and one of its most prominent personality, Lech Aleksander Kaczyn´ski was elected as President of the republic. The L aw and Justice Party is the dominant force of the present governing coalition. The study summarizes concisely the general characteristics of the Polish party system, too.
