Summary/Abstract: We live a time of inventions and innovations at all levelsof live and knowledge. We are closer than ever to Marsand speed of light is no longer a frontier. However, scientificinnovations are very expensive and they leavebehind the large masses of people with no means: thepoor. Innovations for poor communities have to be accessible, replicable and sustainable, based on an understandingof local context, environment, micro-climateand available resources. Therefore, reconsidering theconcepts of invention and innovation is necessary, notjust out of solidarity with vulnerable groups, but, mostof all, as a personal ecology for each of us. Technologicaladvancement has taken our creativity, turning usinto consumers. We have the solution prior to havingthe need, we also have the money to buy or to rent, andif not, we have innovative and advantageous credit programs. From my memory, the last time I have inventedanything was in my childhood, when I didn’t havemoney to buy, or I wasn’t even aware of that product’sexistence. It came down to using things available in oraround my household. And it worked! When have youlast invented something? Perhaps it is time for us to inventsomething again, together!
