Summary/Abstract: The archaeological researches in sector C from the Tropaeum Traiani (Adamclisicommon, Constanţa county), from the period 2017-2019, have proposed thecontinuation of the study of the late Roman-Byzantine period habitation complex inthe southern area of the city, more precisely of a large building, discovered withmore than a decade ago. At this stage of the research, we can specify that we are infront of a large and important building of type Domus, oriented north-south (slightlynorthwest and southeast), with a width of 22 m and a length of 44 m. During thisperiod, four new sections (20-24) were opened, oriented east-west and north-south.Also, in order to understand the planimetry of the respective micro-zone in thementioned neighborhood, we cleaned part of the sections investigated nearby duringthe 80s of the last century, located to the east of cardo, in front towards east of thementioned Domus type building. In the whole area we have eliminated a number ofwitnesses who have revealed new constructive details, including the north side of thebuilding. We also note the appearance to the north, before the north side, of amassive wall (as a possible porch), 7.60 m long and 0.70 / 0.80 m wide, kept on fiverows, with 1.20 m height. The north side of the porch comprises five well-arrangedrows made in technique opus mixtum. The archaeological excavations in the area of the analyzed building, for the lastcentury of habitation, are nearing the end. However, on the one hand, the totalinterior structure of the 6th century A.D. building is still to be clarified, which can beachieved by eliminating numerous witnesses existing in the eastern half of thebuilding. On the other hand, we will conduct a series of surveys in order to capturethe urban archaeological context before the 6th century A.D. It certainly exists, considering the discovery of numerous ancient objects specific to the 2nd-5th centuriesA.D. during the archaeological campaigns of the last 15 years.
