Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to show that the Podgorina upheaval, depicted in Copic’s novel Prolom, is seen as a revolution, in the very same manner this tradition is established in the Serbian literature by Filip Visnjic. The latter, through his upheaval epic, proclaims revolution as a complete overturn in the universe, which emerges from an individual and then takes over the masses, which is exactly the model used by Branko Copic. Upheaval, as an expression of human need for an individual and, subsequently, an entire people, to alter their conscience, is the main common feature of respective poetics of these two great figures of Serbian literature.
