Summary/Abstract: In the present study we do not intend to make a comprehensive presentation of the error as a vices of consent as regulated by the Civil Code, or in a teaching approach (concept, conditions, classifications, effects) but to emphasize the particularities of these “traditional” institutions and the novelty elements of the current regulation from a comparative perspective with the Civil Code of 1864. This all the more since the New Civil code merely repeats a number of provisions from the previous legislation on error, and the novelty elements are far from ending the doctrinal controversies that have governed the literature in terms of vices of consent.
