Summary/Abstract: During the last years the Competition Law no. 21/1996 and the Law regarding the fight against unfair competition no. 11/991 were subject to a comprehensive restructuring process. The present article intends to briefly present the core amendments brought to Competition Law no. 21/1996 by Emergency Governmental Ordinance no. 75/2010 and the Law no. 149/2011 for its approval and the New Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes. Moreover, the present article intends to analyse also the impact of such amendments over the Competition Council and undertaking subject to assessment/investigations performed by the latter. Last but not least, at the end of the article, we intend to study also the materialization manner of one of the latest attributions acknowledged by the Competition Council, respectively the recommendations for good-practice and the guidelines issued lately by the Competition Council concerning various general aspects of the application of the law in competition field.
