Summary/Abstract: The idea of “safe school” is connected, among others, to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, as well as to shaping proper eating habits, and counteracting overweight and obesity among children and teenagers by divulging information about healthy food. The practical aspect of teaching in the educational process is extremely important. Very frequently, we are able to teach more than the most interesting lessons at school through the behavioural patterns that we use ourselves. Unfortunately, during school trips a visit to McDonald’s or KFS is a common custom. The analysis of school trip programmes in terms of the quality of meals offered during school trips makes it clear that primary schools, on the basis of which the research was conducted, do not meet the assumptions of a safe school. Theoretical issues do not coincide with the practice used in primary schools. It is worth abandoning the disgraceful custom of taking children to places which, as a result, may cause more harm than good. The necessary legal tools exist. What remains is the question of their reliable application. This is the responsibility of the management of each school.
