Development of Competences of the Polish Officers in the Field of Crisis Management. Case of Military University of Land Forces (AWL)

Summary/Abstract: This article explores the issue of training of professional soldiers in Poland. In order to provide analysis in the field of internal security and crisis management the example of developing competences of officers was chosen. Related training courses are organized by the Military University of Land Forces in Wrocław. Analysed problems are associated with several issues: history of military education, development of security studies in Poland, changes in military training requirements, as well as the growing importance of non-military threats in context of state security systems. Article contains the case study, in which conditions and contents of special military education programme have been examined.
