Summary/Abstract: This article is dedicated to an iconographic analysis of the miniatures in the medieval Russian literary artefact Sermon of Palladii the Monk. Systematisation of the fundamental pictorial attributes of the manuscript and the use of six different illustrated manuscripts from various collections and archives allows us to identify three stable iconographic editions. Emphasising characteristic peculiarities of the artefact and designating the fundamental features inherent in the development of bibliographic art in different regions can help us to reach a comprehensive evaluation of the arte-fact, its meaning, and the ways in which bibliographic art employed visual expression to emphasise the essentials of the Christian truth.
