A Role of Inteligent Specialization in Region Development on the Example of Świętokrzyski Region

Summary/Abstract: Intelligent specialization is a new direction which the European Commission have assigned to the member countries for the years 2014 – 2020. The aim of this conception is indicating areas that specialize in specific branches of science and technology and create optimum conditions for their development. Intelligent specialization is a big challenge for Polish authorities – both national and regional. This report explains the concept of intelligent specialization and shows the process of creating it. The work also presents an intelligent specialization chosen from Świętokrzyski Region and introduces most important market participants from specified specializations.
