Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to determine whether there are certain local peculiarities within the martyrological literature referring to the territory of Roman Illyricum, i. e. the Western Balkans and Pannonia. Methodologically, the paper employs comparative literary analysis, but also explores the correlation between the martyrological narrative and data from other written and material sources. The chart serves to present the full range of primary and secondary sources relating to the cult of Illyrian martyrs we know by name. The data in the chart is presented in the descending order according to the historicity of cases and in accordance with Delehaye’s classification. The paper conludes that there are certain particularities in the content and form among the martyrological narratives of Illyrian, especially Pannonian martyrs, in the form of general loca communia, local analogies and finally direct borrowings.
