Summary/Abstract: To the extent that we know the history of property law, we will also be able to understand the current law of property. E. Lerminier said that: “law must be studied historically: without knowing history, what was and lasted before us, we will always remain incomplete, ignorant and unjust; if we tried to despise the past, we would lose the understanding of the present and our own laws. " We are trying to analyze in this paper the evolution of property and property rights from the old age, up to the present. We will analyze the transformations and the role that the property had over time.
