Summary/Abstract: This paper offers insight the into the use of the experiential present perfect in Stephenie Meyer’s novel Twilight and its translation equivalents in its Serbian counterpart. The authors explore various types of the present perfect and present the findings of the frequency analysis to show whether similar linguistic devices are used to convey meaning in English and Serbian. The corpus is comprised of 36 examples of the present perfect in English and their Serbian equivalents. Because of the differences in the inherent lexical-aspectual interaction in the two languages, it is concluded that a vast majority (94%) of the examples of the present perfect are translated into Serbian by using the plain perfect form.
