Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes Peter Davies’s study of “dangerous liaisons” in Europe under Nazi occupation in order to attain a better understanding of achievements of Serbian historiography on the phenomenon of collaboration in occupied Serbia in World War II. Recently Serbian historians showed an increased interest in researching different aspects of World War II, one of them being collaboration. Thus, it is important to have an insight into foreign historian’s approaches to the study of this phenomenon and Peter Davies’s study provides us with one. It enables us not only to compare the existing knowledge, spot the similarities or differences among different countries which experienced collaboration, but to give more precise answers to some questions, to accept or reject certain stands as controversial and to clear the path for a clearer perception of this phenomenon in Serbia, that is, in Yugoslavia in World War II.
