Model of expenses distribution and demand functions

Summary/Abstract: The issue of the relationship between the level of income and the shape of expenses distribution is discussed in the paper. The theoretical Burr III (Dagum) distribution was used as a model of the empirical distribution of expenses. The parametrisation of the distribution by adequate demand functions allowed to analyze the influence changes in the level of income on the shape of expenses distribution. The linear, exponential and Törnquist function were used as a demand function. All results were based on the data from Polish households budget survey from 2009.
