Summary/Abstract: The paper aims at showing the image of the Soviet Union in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and determining what influenced it and under what circumstances it was changing. The peoples in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes\Yugoslavia had different perspective on Russia during its history. The Serbs looked at Russia as a traditional protector, while other nations had a completely opposite perception. However, the changes that came with the October Revolution and the end of the First World War brought a different perception of Russia to the Serb side, more precisely, the view that the communist country cannot be a Serbian protector. The author believes that the aggressive anti-communist attitude propagated by the authorities until 1939 failed to succeed in changing the traditional image of Russia. It has also been confirmed that the creation of the image of the Other is a purely political principle that changes pragmatically, depending on the need.
