Summary/Abstract: This article is about the regulation of the personality rights in the Civil Code in relation to fundamental human rights and freedoms and the application of biology and medicine to these rights. The article analyses the relation between the personality rights and the rights inherent to human beings, and it also gives opinions about their systematisation in the Civil Code and the connection existing between the content of these rights and the bioethics. Several concrete aspects are analysed with regard to the concept of human dignity and its regulation in international documents, as well as the “the right to decide for oneself” correlated with the “inviolability of the human body” and the “right to physical and psychical integrity”.
